A PHOENIX RISES

I was just going down the street and it’s like, yeah, a phoenix is the bird that rises from the ashes. I felt like West Louisville, we could be like that. We were good once and then like, now we’re in trouble, we can be on top again. It’s right across from the Boys and Girls club in Parkland. It represents hope to me. It’s so beautiful to me, and the meaning is beautiful, of the bird. I don’t even think many people know that it’s there; someone took so much time to the art, but I read that it was temporary. And I was wondering like, why would this be temporary, it needs to be permanent.

…It says “we rise together”, we have to come together if we want to get better.
